Liz Marks was reading a text while driving when the unthinkable happened, she crashed — and almost died.
In a video posted to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s YouTube page, Liz explains her story about texting and driving and how quickly accidents can happen.
Before the crash, Marks described herself as “normal” high school student, who went to high school parties, and even did some modeling.
Marks says she used her cell phone every “second, every minute, every hour.” Saying she felt lonely if she didn’t have her cell phone on her.
While she was driving one day, she looked at her phone after receiving a text. Liz had a very bad accident which left her blind in one eye, she cannot smell, cannot create tears as her tear ducts are damaged, and she cannot go to sleep on her own without taking medication.
